Thanks to my heroes
TO THE EDITOR:
I would like to thank Nathan Bachman and Bryan Harding for what I feel, saving my life.
On Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, I went out to get the paper. Unfortunately the combination screen door accidently locked so I couldn't get back in. After pounding on the door trying to wake my husband, to no avail, I decided to walk around to our other driveway thinking I could wake him by pounding on the side of the house. However, when I reached the entrance to the driveway I slipped and fell and hit my head. I couldn't get up so I crawled on my hands and knees about half way up the driveway and couldn't go any further.
I have MD and have no strength in my legs and arms to get myself up. After laying there for some time our neighbor boy, Nathan, come out to catch his ride to school and heard me cry for help. He in turn called his friend Bryan, who was driving, and both of them helped me up. Nathan took off his jacket and wrapped it around me as I only had a nightgown and a robe on, while Bryan pounded on the side of the house and woke my husband.
In as much as I only weigh 76 pounds and our street is very lightly traveled I have no doubt that if these two young men didn't help me I would have frozen to death as my husband said it was 10 below that morning. I also have to thank our Good Lord for sending these two young men when he did. Nathan and Bryan, words cannot express my thanks. You truly are my heroes. My husband and I will definitely remember both of you in our prayers.

An apology from the editor
My apologies to Lee and Sue Linehan for not including them in the "year in review" edition for achieving 50 years of marriage. It was never my intention to omit them when putting that edition together. What we were trying to do was give an overview of the year and take samples of news items from here and there. But they are right, if I use some I should probably have used all. I have offended the Linehans and so I include them in this (print) issue.
I hope the couple can accept my apology, 50 years is certainly something to be remembered and proud of.
And if I omitted anyone else, I'm sorry. It was such a long year, filled with many events and activities. We did fill eight pages with looking-back news. Actually, when we got through poring over the pages of the past year we were exhausted from reliving all 365 days.
Much of that news can also be found in the archives of our Web site.
While we do not include the anniversaries and birthdays on our Web page, we do have the obituaries.
Check it out at www.ecmpostreview.com.
