Students get grim message before Prom

mock.jpgThe North Branch Fire Department, Lakes Region EMS, North Branch Police Department, Grandstrand Funeral Home and students from the high school jointly presented a mock car crash Wednesday, May 7 for the students of North Branch high school. “Myself and the people involved want to send a message to you,” said Officer Wayne Schwalbe, NB school liaison officer, to the young people on the lawn. And he added, “So you can make good choices.”

Police station referendum probable this fall
It isn’t with great eagerness, but it is with a certain consensus, that the North Branch City Council seems fairly sure  they will be approving a fall referendum on the construction of a new police station. That was the conclusion of a segment of a special work session May 30.
 
Notes from the April 22 Stacy Council
The Sunrise Mobile Home Park is enforcing a curfew. Non-residents will be asked to leave or have their vehicles towed from the park, which is private property after 9 p.m. The Joint Resolution for Orderly Annexation of Lent township property has been worked out on paper.
 
Many attend National Day of Prayer breakfast
pray2.jpgNorth Branch Mayor Gloria Karsky opened her prayer breakfast at the Legion Hall this morning by making note of the vision and value statement of the National Day of Prayer. The breakfast was attended by over 70 people, who also heard from Pastor Neil Bonkoski and Chaplain Dan Hall from the state legislature.
